LAMB WESTON

Project Description

Client: Lamb Weston | ConAgra Foods
Location: Pasco, Washington
Project Size: 80,000 sf facility
Architect: Fisher Construction Group
Facility Type: Potato Processing Expansion

Designed to Enhance Product Innovation

Built within an Amazing 6 Month Schedule

Lamb Weston, a division of ConAgra Foods, is a leading supplier of frozen potato products with plants located throughout the world. The company chose to expand the Pasco, Washington plant to meet ongoing product demand and build in competitive attributes for future growth.

The design | build team at Fisher worked closely with Lamb Weston’s engineers to design a facility that would enhance product innovation and operational excellence. The facility, with insulated metal panel (IMP) ceilings and stainless-steel wall panels, included a suspended electrical mezzanine, allowing access to equipment monitoring while using the space below for processing.

To solve the challenge of building the addition in a 6-month time frame while the main plant remained operational, the Fisher construction team developed a number of strategies. To insure no down time, materials were ordered, tracked and stored with a comprehensive catalog system.

The team also developed a safety plan which allowed team members and subcontractors to overlap service delivery wherever and whenever possible. The concrete tilt-up panels were poured on casting pads so the walls could be placed as soon as the floor had cured.

The team at Fisher managed the entire project for Lamb Weston, from conceptual design through equipment installation, delivering a highly-efficient working plant in record time and under budget.
