The Mount Vernon Medical Building is a 3-story multi-use medical building that sits adjacent to the Skagit Valley Hospital. It is home to the Skagit Valley Hospital Regional Cancer Care Center, Pacific Northwest Cardiology, and a VA outpatient clinic.
Delivering the latest in medical services, the cancer care center features the most recent developments in high-tech equipment, including two state-of-the-art linear accelerators used for radiation treatment, each enclosed in 3’ – 6’ thick concrete shielding walls. Providing a serene environment for healing, the building is surrounded by a private outdoor healing garden.
The building’s partners wanted a contractor that could offer medical building experience along with the flexibility of staggered tenant occupancy and changing floor plans. They were pleased to find Fisher met their expectations in every way. Fisher worked closely with Mahlum Architects to constructed a facility with advanced medical systems needed for today’s care delivery, while being able to easily adapt to the changes in the future.
Even before final floor plans were complete, the Fisher team began demolished
existing structures, constructing parking lots and building foundations. Though the evolving project scope provided challenges, the building was completed on schedule and well under budget.
