Safety

Our 1st Priority

Above all, maintaining a safe job site is a deeply ingrained priority throughout Fisher Construction Group. We understand importance of a safe work environment for our employees and subcontractors as well as for delivering projects efficiently. Accordingly, Fisher has developed a Comprehensive Safety Management Program (CSMP) for which we rigorously review and improve. We’re proud to share that our Lost-Time Incident Rate surpasses the industry average. As does our EMR rate – which is far below the industry. Not only have we exceeded industry averages for more than five years in a row, but we unfailingly act to improve on this success.

Fisher’s CSMP is designed to instill a high level awareness of safe job site practices in all team members. The core components of our program include the following.

CLEARLY DEFINED CSMP POLICIES

All employees and subcontractors are required to follow the policies which are outlined in the Fisher’s Safety Manual. Accordingly, these policies meet or exceed industry standards and apply to a wide range of situations which may arise in the pursuit of our business. Fisher’s CSMP encompasses many topics including hazard awareness, emergency preparedness, and site-specific protection plans.

CONTINUAL COMMUNICATION OF THE CSMP POLICIES

Awareness is continually reinforced throughout the entire workforce at length. Orientation meetings are held for all employees at each new job site, along with weekly job site safety meetings and ongoing equipment training programs as the project progresses.

MAINTAINING A SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY

The job site superintendent leads the safety team. Concurrently, procedures and accident prevention measures are monitored by our Safety Coordinator, who oversees policies and practices at all Fisher’s job sites. As a result, this ensures awareness. We multiply its impact by insisting all employees take ownership of their compliance to the CSMP policies, as well as everyone’s involved in a project.

INDUSTRY STANDARDS

By and large, Fisher Construction Group’s CSMP meets or exceeds the requirements of the following industry organizations and federal and state programs:
– Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA)
– Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA)
– National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
– American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
– Associated General Contractors of Washington
