Fisher’s Design | Build Team Delivers Future Proofing

Sustainability & Efficiency

Throughout its 125-year history, Firestone Pacific Foods has focused on responsible stewardship of resources. In the 21st Century, doing so means to caring for both the land and the business, extending sustainably to future generations.

In partnership with Agriculture Capital’s AC Foods, Firestone Pacific Foods has scaled operations, expanded processing and distribution capacity, and further positioned toward carbon neutrality.

And because Firestone and AC Foods had worked with Fisher Construction Group on separate projects, it was a no-brainer for the partnership to contract with Fisher for the 60,000 sq. ft. expansion.

Energy efficiency was a driving factor influencing building envelope and equipment choices. With that in mind, the roof and walls create a thermal insulation value far exceeding those required by the current code. The highly calibrated and controlled refrigeration and HVAC equipment and high-speed doors also play a pivotal role in maximizing energy efficiency. The insulated metal panel walls perform the dual job of energy efficiency and meeting food-safety measures, standing up to the rigorous daily cleaning required to keep the food processing plant safe.

The 60,000 SF expansion includes a state-of-the-art processing bay with four processing lines. The area is both temperature and positive-pressure controlled. Spot drains, IMP walls, and epoxy floors help Firestone meet their sanitation requirements because they can easily be cleaned and prepared for daily processing.

Fisher’s design | build team is a valuable partner for processors working toward carbon neutrality and growing their businesses in a way that reduces food and packaging waste, energy use and water consumption.
